Homemade Smokey BBQ Sauce

Ingredients

Red onion finely diced

brown sugar

Smokey paprika

Crushed garlic

Tomato ketchup

Worcestershire sauce

ml
Cider vinegar

Onion powder

drops
Liquid smoke - if available

Maple syrup
Instructions
Fry off onion and garlic in a small amount of vegetable oil until softened
Add brown sugar and maple syrup cook for further 4 mins
Add other ingredients and incorporate well
Simmer for 10mins, stirring regularly
Notes
NB Be careful not to burn the bottom of the saucepan as it will give your sauce an unpleasant flavour.
